Roller Shutter Tape, Tube and Roller Combo.

The IR Roller and IR Tube are manual tape-controlled components designed for use in Roller Shutters Australia systems, specifically for in-reveal side entry installations. Together, they complete the internal operating mechanism.

The IR Roller has been developed using similar design principles to the Insert Roller, incorporating a flanged roller to reduce wear on the control tape. Its tube section is engineered to fit precisely into the IR Tube and features four raised ridges that prevent rotation once installed.

The IR Tube is manufactured from extruded PVC and is designed to minimise the required hole size. It includes eight moulded keyways that align with both the Insert Roller and IR Roller. This coordinated system of ridges and keyways prevents component movement after installation while allowing rotational adjustment in 15° increments, ensuring accurate alignment.

The IR Tube combo includes:

• Standard cut lengths of 250 mm (Part Number: 13.246.401)
• 1 X IR ROLLER - 13.250.401
• 1 X INSERT ROLLER - 13.240.401

Installation Tip:
When installing the IR Tube, it should be cut as short as possible while still allowing adequate clearance for the control tape. Measure the wall thickness at the entry point and cut the tube approximately 10 mm shorter for a standard installation. This ensures optimal tape angle and performance.

The entry hole should be positioned as close as possible to the roller shutter or side entry roller system. For reference, a shutter measuring approximately 1.8 m × 1.8 m in a side entry in-reveal setup will typically require a pull force of around 10 kg on the control tape.

If the IR Tube is cut even 20 mm too long, the pull force can increase significantly to approximately 16 kg — a 60% increase — placing additional strain on all system components.
